Get Your Products Photographed in Beautiful Spaces

Lifestyle product photography isn’t just about taking pictures; it’s about storytelling, and selling a narrative around your lifestyle and homeware products that resonates with your audience. Every creation, be it a simple hand soap dispenser or an intricately designed candlestick, holds within it a story waiting to be told. My photography aims to capture these stories, presenting your products as essential elements of an aspirational lifestyle, thereby forging a deeper connection with your audience.

I work in partnership with Angela Drakeford of A+A Property Stagers – a professional home stager, who will expertly create the perfect, natural lifestyle scenes for me to photograph your products in, using an array of props and accessories. Simply send your products to me, and we will place your creations in real-life contexts, showcasing them in beautiful homes to highlight their beauty and functionality, enhancing their appeal to potential customers. I will then provide you with exceptional imagery of your product as it would look in the real world, for use on your websites and marketing material.

I found the quality of Oliver's work to be extremely good. He has an excellent eye for detail and knows how a room should be presented to show it off best. I found him to be very pleasant to deal with, no faff and turned round the photos quickly. I've just booked him again for another of my properties. Would highly recommend.

I have worked with Oliver closely over the past 12 months and he has become our go-to guy when it comes to photographing our property portfolio. We started out as a new company and had issues with a couple of photographers before coming across Oliver. Since his first job, he has photographed over a dozen of our properties. The images are always of a brilliant quality which we use across our adverts, website and in brochures. Oliver not only delivers with quality photos but always is on time for appointments, is not afraid to be hands on when needed and does not rush. Cannot be recommended enough!

What Are The Benefits of Product Lifestyle Photography?

Enhanced Realism: Product lifestyle photography places the objects in real-life contexts, allowing potential customers to envision how they could use or integrate them into their own lives. This realism can significantly enhance the perceived value and desirability of the goods, when compared to objects on a white background.

  • Visual Context: Lifestyle photography provides visual context, helping consumers understand the size, scale, and functionality of the item within a real environment. This can reduce ambiguity and answer potential questions about its use and application.

  • Emotional Connection: By presenting products within a lifestyle setting, images can evoke emotions and moments, establishing a stronger connection between the object and the consumer. This emotional appeal can be a powerful motivator in the purchasing decision.
  • Quality Perception: High-quality, well-staged lifestyle photographs can enhance the perceived quality and premium nature of a product. This perception can justify higher price points and position it as a must-have item.

  • Competitive Differentiation: Products staged in lifestyle settings can stand out from competitors who may only use traditional studio shots. This differentiation can make your creation more memorable and attractive to consumers.

  • Highlight Features and Benefits: Through strategic staging and composition, in-situ photography can highlight specific features and benefits, demonstrating its value proposition in a clear and compelling way.
  • Increased Engagement: Images that depict the items in use or in situ are more engaging to consumers. They tend to spend more time looking at these images, which can increase engagement on websites and social media platforms, leading to higher conversion rates.
  • Versatility of Use: Lifestyle images are versatile and can be used across a variety of marketing materials, from websites and social media to print ads and packaging. This versatility makes them a cost-effective solution to suit a range of campaigns.

Paying for professional photography may seem like a relatively big investment, but because you only pay for the service once and get to use the photos forever on your website and marketing material.

Your images will be professionally edited using the best editing software to ensure high standards and delivered back to you on time.

About Me

As a seasoned photographer specialising in lifestyle product photography, I bring over a decade of experience to the table, having worked with a diverse range of brands, both large and small business owners all aiming to enhance their online presence and marketing materials. This unique role allows me the privilege of not only assisting companies in elevating their brand image and sales but also of immersing myself in the intricate beauty of everyday objects placed within stunningly designed environments.

My approach as a photographer is to do more than just photograph the object; it’s about narrating the story behind each item, emphasising its distinctive features and the lifestyle it complements. Utilising professional photography equipment and techniques, I rely heavily on natural lighting, thoughtful composition, and sophisticated post-processing editing to create images that not only show off the product but make it appealing to the viewer.

The challenge in lifestyle photography lies in the uniqueness of each item and setting. Every product has its own unique features, and my task is to capture those faithfully in my images. This demands flexibility, adaptability, and an acute attention to detail, coupled with an in-depth understanding of the visual elements that make your brand stand out. Whether it’s a minimalist hand soap dispenser or a designer wine rack, my objective is consistent: to produce imagery that beautifully and accurately represents the product, encouraging consumer engagement and interest.

Over my career, I’ve had the joy of working with a wide array of brands, from simple home decor to luxurious lifestyle goods, across various settings from minimal stylish homes to elaborate hotel rooms. Regardless of the brand’s nature or the complexity of the setting, my aim remains the same: to deliver images that tell a compelling story of the product, enhancing its appeal and thereby supporting businesses in attracting more customers.

What happens on the day of the shoot?

On the scheduled day of the photoshoot, I arrive at the chosen location, typically in the morning when the daylight is most favourable for capturing the true beauty of your products. While sunrise or sunset might seem like an appealing time for photography, the natural light during these times can often cast shadows that may detract from the visual appeal of your items in their staged settings.

Upon my arrival, if you are joining me on the day of the shoot, we’ll have a detailed discussion about the day’s objectives and your expectations for the shoot. This conversation is crucial as it helps align our visions, so that every image I provide represents your brand’s identity. After this, I will conduct a thorough walk-through of the location, identifying the best spaces and setups for our lifestyle scenes.

If you are bringing the items, they should already be on-site, along with any props or additional items we’ve agreed upon to enhance the setting and create the right mood. While the environment will have been prepared beforehand, I may suggest adjustments in the placement of products or props to optimise the composition and aesthetic appeal of each shot.

Then, it’s time to select the ideal spots for each photo, set up the lighting, and begin the shoot. Throughout the process, I’ll shoot your products in a variety of settings and arrangements, highlighting their features and the lifestyle they embody. This includes taking detailed shots that accentuate their specific qualities, from their design to how they fit into everyday life. If we’ve planned for it, I’ll also shoot any additional content, such as close-up detail shots or specific scenes that tell a more in-depth story about your brand.

A typical photoshoot will last between 2 – 4 hours, but this may vary depending on the complexity and number of items we’re shooting. A full day shoot may be more suitable if you have a large number of products. Once the photography is complete, we’ll review the raw images together to really make sure they meet your expectations and discuss any additional shots you may want. If you are not present on the day, I will send the raw images to you for your approval. You will then choose your favourite shots from the selection and these will be the final images.

Over the next 24 hours, I’ll retouch the photos to bring out their best qualities. This process can involve adjusting lighting, colour balance, and composition. If needed, we can also include additional Photoshop work, such as replacing skies or removing any unwanted shine, reflections, blemishes, to ensure the final images are flawless. I can also add certain elements such as lighting effects.

After editing, I’ll deliver the final images to you via email in the format you’ve requested. This typically includes both high-resolution images for print purposes and slightly lower-resolution versions for your website, social media, and other digital platforms. You’ll receive a diverse selection of photos, providing ample choice for your marketing needs.

Unless additional services were requested, you can expect to be able to download the final, edited images within 48 hours after the shoot.

Our clients say

Oliver was very flexible in working around my property, whilst I was frantically staging two rooms ahead. He gave some great ideas on angles for shots, the photography was beautiful, and I received the edited images quickly and efficiently so I could go to market directly
